The class is Intro to Social Research. So me and my group did the project and we will have to write a paper. My part in the paper is the methods.I will upload three files please read them and you will know what to write about.
One of the files that i’m going to upload named ‘Mini project description’ please read it and You are doing the high-lighted part. This is what i have saide in the project ‘Sampling Technique:
We are complete observers. So we did not interact with the public at all and they don’t know what we were doing there.
Unit of analysis:
Is people. And we guest the age by visual cues based on current fashion friends. The way they carry themselves. The current social norms and aging features.
Sample size:
We each observed 50 people at each store would give us a good representation of all ages. The rate of people coming in each store was about the same because it took us all 30-45 min.’

2. We found how age affects the grocery store people shop at.

B. Why is this important?

1. Why is this topic worthy of our attention? Why do people care about this?
2. ANSWR: the company will know what age group they are marketing to and if it would be important to change their target market group.

C. Briefly touch on how we did our research and what we did at each store.

Hypothesis: (predictions)
A. Define the concepts we used and explain how we operationalized them.

Methods:
A. How did we conduct the research?

1. What procedures did we follow to collect our data?

B. What was our unit of analysis?
C. What sampling technique did we use? What are the strengths and weaknesses of our technique.

1. Our technique we used was observation. We were Complete Observers.
2. No one knew we were doing research at each market, and no one was told about our research.

D. Why did we choose Walmart, Hy-vee and Midtown?
1. Because they are all grocery markets.

E. Report our observations and what was our sample size?
1. 50 people each store. We observed the age groups of the people.

Findings:

A. What did we find? What patterns emerged? Which of our hypotheses were confirmed? And was there anything that surprised us?
